Tongsiting/CSTQB Actively Participates in the 42nd ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 Plenary Meeting, Driving the International Standardization Process

From May 25 to 31, 2024, the 42nd ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 plenary meeting was successfully held in Berlin, Germany. The event brought together over
80 experts from more than 20 countries and regions, including China, France,Germany, the UK, Australia, Thailand, India, South Korea, Japan, Canada, and
the United States, as well as representatives from key organizations such as INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering), IEEE (Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers), ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), and TC159 (Technical Committee for Ergonomics).

The Chinese delegation, composed of five experts from the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), the National Information Center,
and Shanghai Tongsiting Software Technology Co.,/ Ltd.,/CSTQB was led by Zhang Yangyang of CESI. The delegation participated actively in all sessions of the
plenary.

During the meeting, the SC7 Chair, Secretariat, and various working groups provided detailed progress reports, with 64 resolutions being
reviewed and passed. Key outcomes included the Strategic Planning Group’s update of the SC7 business plan and adjustment of its membership; the
appointment of new conveners for six working groups, including those focused ondocumentation, tools and environments, process management, IT systems,
knowledge systems, and testing; an extension of the work period for special
task groups on open-source software, AI-driven software development, and green software; and the establishment of a new task group dedicated to low-code
development. The meeting also approved 11 New Work Item Proposals (NP) for international standardization, with the next plenary scheduled for June 2025 in
Bangkok, Thailand.

As a key member of the Chinese delegation, experts from Shanghai Tongsiting Software Technology Co., Ltd./CSTQB actively participated
in the discussions and contributed to achieving significant results. Chinese experts played a leading role in SC7, advancing updates to its business plan
and strategic objectives as part of AG2 and AG3. They were also appointed as conveners of the newly established low-code development task group, driving
important research in this emerging area.

In the realm of ongoing standardization projects, Chinese experts secured notable achievements, receiving 13 joint editor appointments
for international standards across various domains, including quality, micro-entities, architecture, agile practices, and DevOps. The Chinese
delegation further pushed for the revision of ISO/IEC TS 25011:2017 “IT Service Quality” into an International Standard (IS) and successfully advanced ISO/IEC29119-8 “Model-Based Testing” to the NP voting stage. Moreover, Chinese experts, as joint editors, facilitated the approval and publication of ISO/IEC25002 “Quality Model Overview and Usage” and moved ISO/IEC 42042 “Reference Architecture” and ISO/IEC 42024 “Architecture Foundations” into the Committee Draft (CD) stage.

Looking ahead, the Chinese delegation will continue to focus on international standardization in software and systems engineering,
with an emphasis on low-code development, software quality, testing, agile practices, and DevOps. Shanghai Tongsiting Software Technology Co., Ltd./CSTQB
is committed to further strengthening its expert team and making breakthroughs in international standardization, contributing to the global advancement of
software and systems engineering.

This meeting not only showcased China’s strength and contributions in the field of international standardization but also
highlighted Tongsiting’s proactive role in global software and systems engineering standards. In the future, Tongsiting/CSTQB will continue its efforts
to promote international standards, deepen cooperation with experts worldwide, and contribute to the ongoing development of the global software and systems
engineering industry.
